A wireless communication terminal having a function of diagnosing faults of a receiving module and a method thereof are provided to diagnose whether a fault is generated from the receiving module, by using a DVGA(Digital Variable Gain Amplifier) value during calibration, in order to progress to a repairing process without performing the calibration if the fault is generated from the receiving module. A storage(180) pre-stores information where an RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indication) value and a reference DVGA value based on the RSSI value are matched with each other. An input unit(185) inputs calibration mode conversion information. A wireless transceiver(175) receives signals. A switching unit(110) switches a transmission path according to frequencies of the received signals. A duplexer(120) delivers the signals received through the switched path to an amplifier(130). The amplifier(130) amplifies the delivered signals as minimizing noise of the signals. A filtering unit(140) filters frequency signals only from the amplified signals. A demodulator(150) demodulates the filtered signals. A controller(160) converts a mode of a wireless communication terminal into a calibration mode as the calibration mode conversion information is inputted, and extracts a DVGA value from the demodulated signals to perform a subtracting operation for the reference DVGA value and the extracted DVGA value, then diagnoses whether a fault is generated from a receiving module, according o the operated values.
