<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct irregular rotation of a rotator by appropriately selecting and executing a method for correcting a speed command signal to a motor or a method for directly superimposing a correction signal on the input voltage to a motor drive driver, corresponding to the frequency band necessary for correction. <P>SOLUTION: An encoder 105 detects the rotational speed variation of the drive shaft of a photoreceptor drum 104. An irregular rotation arithmetic part 211 generates correction data from the rotational speed variation detected by the encoder 105 and stores the data in a correction data storage part 212. A correction data arithmetic part 213 performs the arithmetic processing of the correction data. A motor drive controller 221 performs the speed control of a motor 101 based on the speed command CLK sent from the output section 214 of the motor speed command CLK.
