PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform production of paper leading end timing even when a distance of a paper leading end detection sensor and a manual paper feed port is short and the paper is detected by a paper leading end detection sensor after feeding during image formation preparation action. SOLUTION: A resist roller is reversely rotated after the paper to be recorded is passed through a leading end sensor once and the leading end of the paper is returned to a front side of the sensor.
