PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device applicable to a high-speed device and capable of preventing double feed and no feed, and an image forming device equipped with the paper feeding device. SOLUTION: This paper feeding device is provided with a delivery roller 53 sequentially delivering a top paper sheet out of stacked paper sheets P; a paper feeding roller 54 receiving the delivered paper sheet; a separation roller 55 brought into pressure contact with the paper feeding roller 54 to nip the paper sheet; and an inclined face 100a which is arranged between the paper feeding roller 54 and the delivery roller 53 and on which a tip of the paper sheet delivered from the delivery means abuts, and an inclination angleθof the inclined face 100a is changeable. Alternatively, an inclined face 200a is a curved surface having a plurality of inclination angles along the height direction, and motors 60, 70 for changing the top position of the stacked paper sheets P are provided.
