PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel substrate bond type metal catalyst for solving the problems in safety and stability of a metal catalyst, especially an organometallic complex catalyst when using the metal catalyst, in removal of trace metal presents in a reaction product, in waste liquid treatment, or the like. SOLUTION: This invention relates to a method of manufacturing a substrate whose surface is bonded with a metal compound, which keeps sulfur atoms immobilized on the surface of the substrate, and the surface of the substrate further bonded with the metal compound, thereafter, heated in an organic solvent. This invention relates to the substrate manufactured by the method; the substrate bond type metal catalyst comprising the substrate; the use of the substrate as the substrate bond type metal catalyst; and a method of manufacturing an organic compound using the substrate bond type metal catalyst.
