摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray CT apparatus where an image of inside of a irradiation area can be reconstructed by a normal image reconstruction method by restricting an X-ray irradiation area by a collimator capable of restricting the X-ray irradiation area for reducing contamination and avoiding occurrence of steep change of projection data inside/outside the irradiation area even if a scanning speed is high. SOLUTION: The X-ray CT apparatus is composed of: an X-ray source for radiating the X-rays; an X-ray detector which is arranged opposite to the X-ray source across a subject having a region of interest to detect X-ray transmission data transmitted through subject while being rotated in a prescribed direction with the X-ray source; the collimator for restricting X-ray irradiation to areas except for the region of interest; and a reconstruction means for reconstructing the X-ray transmission data detected by the X-ray detector. The collimator is provided with: a liquid metal 7 which attenuates the X-rays; a triangle container 6 for housing the liquid metal; and liquid quantity varying means 9, 10 and 11 for varying a liquid quantity of the liquid metal to be housed in the container so as to restrict the X-ray irradiation to areas excepting for the region of interest.
