The anchoring element has a threaded shaft (20), for anchoring in a bone section or a spinal vertebra and a cylindrical reception part (22) for coupling with a rod (100) of given diameter, fitting into a U-shaped seating (26) of the reception part, provided with a screw thread (30,31) at the free ends of its arms (27,28). The screw thread extends from the end of each arm over no more than a given distance (A) from the end face (29) of the arm, with a thread-free section between the end of the screw thread and a second greater distance (B) from the end face of the arm. An independent claim for a method for manufacture of a surgical anchoring element is also included. |
