A pneumatic radial tire for heavy load is provided to reduce abrasion of a surface of a tread and improve durability of the tire, by absorbing and attenuating force applied to the tread by a heat radiation unit. A pneumatic radial tire for heavy load comprises a belt part(110) and a heat radiation unit(130). The belt part comprising plural sheets of belts(112) is disposed between a carcass(102) and a tread(120). The heat radiation unit radiates heat generated by bending and stretching motions of the belt part. The heat radiation unit comprises a side groove(132) and plural radiating ribs(134) formed in the side groove. The side groove is formed on a tread side(124). The radiating ribs are formed at predetermined pitches along circumferences of plural concentric circles on the side groove. The radiating ribs are arranged parallel with one another or in zigzags. Sectional shapes of the radiating ribs are square, parallelogram, or mixed arrangement of those figures. An end of the innermost radiating rib and an end of the outermost radiating rib are placed on a lower surface extension line(L1) of a lowermost belt(112a) and an upper surface extension line(L2) of an uppermost belt(112d), respectively.
