A pharmaceutical composition comprising fenofibrate is provided to show improved bioavailability by incorporating a cellulose derivative as a binder and simultaneously a solubilization adjuvant into a composition containing micronized fenofibrate and a surfactant. The pharmaceutical composition for treating or preventing hyperlipidemia, hypercholesterinemia and hypertriglyceridemia comprises micronized fenofibrate, a surfactant and a binding cellulose derivative such as hydroxypropylmethylcellulose as a solubilizing agent, and is characterized in that the weight ratio of the fenofibrate/binding cellulose derivative is 5/1-15/1. The composition further comprises at least one excipient such as a diluent, a foam inhibiting agent, and a lubricating agent.
