<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that enables a drawer type manuscript reader employing a harness connection system to smoothly be stored by suppressing a harness from being caught during the storing operation, and makes safe electric connections with simple constitution, and the manuscript reader used therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with a printer 2 which is built in an image forming apparatus primary body 1 and capable of imaging on a recording material, the manuscript reader 3 which is provided to freely be drawn out of the image forming apparatus primary body 1 and held at a drawing-out position where the manuscript reader is drawn out of the image forming apparatus primary body 1 and a storage position where the manuscript reader can be stored in the image forming apparatus primary body 1, and a connection means 4 of electrically connecting the printer 2 to the manuscript reader 3, and the connection means 4 is equipped with a lead-out side connector 6a whose connection elements 5 of paired constitution are separately arranged for the manuscript reader 3 and image forming apparatus primary body 1 and connected together to connect the manuscript reader 3 and printer 2 at least at the drawing-out position of the manuscript reader 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
