<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving device and a driving method for a display panel for preventing, for example, erroneous operation of a driver circuit to drive a display element in a low temperature state. <P>SOLUTION: An abnormality detecting means 6 is connected to the final stage of a shift register 2a constituting a data driver 2. The abnormality detecting means 6 is configured in such a manner that when it detects failure in transferring a start signal inputted in the first stage of the shift register 2a to the final stage of the shift register, it outputs an abnormality detection signal. When a control signal adjusting means 4a receives the abnormality detection signal, it decreases the frequency of clock signals supplied to the driver so as to allow the shift register to operate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
