<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial marble which has a high design property and a high quality, and in addition, can protect a decorative sheet. <P>SOLUTION: The artificial marble 10 comprises a compound layer 11 comprising a resin compound, and the decorative sheet 12 which is arranged on the compound layer 11. The decorative sheet 12 is impregnated with a resin material 14 for bonding. A surface side protective layer 13 is arranged on the decorative sheet 12. The surface side protective layer 13 comprises a gel coating resin having light permeability, and protects the decorative sheet 12.
