PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas engine and a gas engine generator capable of reducing amount of remaining fuel liquid and realizing excellent mounting work efficiency of a liquefied gas cylinder and excellent ease of use during operation for many hours. SOLUTION: This gas engine generator 1 equipped with the gas engine 3 is provided with the liquefied gas cylinder 30, the engine 40 driven by using liquefied gas supplied from it as fuel, and the generator 50 operating by receiving power from the engine. The liquefied gas cylinder 30 is vertically arranged by letting a fuel outlet face downward. This gas engine generator has a mounting part 60 for mounting the liquefied gas cylinder 30 and a front cylinder cover 13 covering the front sides of the mounting part 60 and the liquefied gas cylinder 30 mounted in the mounting part so as to expose them on a front side of a case. An upper side of this cover can tilt and move in the forward and backward directions. A cylinder attitude holding mechanism 70 is provided on an inner side of an upper part of the front cylinder cover 13. A cock capable of connecting a supply pipe linked to a propane gas cylinder provided on an outer side of the case with a connection part connected with the mounting part 60 is provided.
