Device (1) has roller blind shaft (2) and planar blind part (3) which can be rolled up or down the shaft. The planar part has flexible metal strips (4,4'), whereby each strip is curved and is bend-resistant when rolled up and is pressed flat and able to be rolled up when rolled down. At least two metal strips lying opposite each other make up a pair and each individual metal strip curves away from the one next to it. At least one pair of metal strips run in the direction the blind is pulled out and each metal strip when rolled down curves obliquely to the direction the blind is pulled out.
