A micropipette for use in a sample dispensing unit comprises an upper section (2) which holds the sample and a nozzle (7) below this section. Full pipettes can be stored out of the dispenser without leaking. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a dispensing unit using the pipettes; (B) using the pipettes in which full pipettes are stored away from the dispensing unit; and (C) use of the pipettes for storing samples separately from the dispensing unit.
