A refrigerator is provided to reduce noises in a refrigerant pipe and to absorb shock on the refrigerant pipe by installing an elastic muffler on the refrigerant pipe. A refrigerator comprises a main body, a compressor, a refrigerant pipe(20) and an elastic muffler(30). A compressor for compressing the refrigerant is installed in a machine compartment. The refrigerant pipe is connected to the compressor to pass the refrigerant and the refrigerator pipe has a predetermined separated section for connecting the muffler. The elastic muffler made from elastic material, is fitted to the predetermined separated section in the refrigerant pipe and transfers the refrigerant. A pair of clamp(40) is placed on the two ends of the elastic muffler to maintain the gas tight of the elastic muffler and to prevent the elastic muffler from being separated from the refrigerant pipe. The elastic muffler has a larger diameter than the refrigerant pipe and the elastic muffler is formed in a cylindrical shape. The elastic muffler is formed in a hose type shape. The refrigerant pipe has a predetermined area expanded to form the expanded part which fits into the two ends of the elastic muffler.
