<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper moisturizing device that can be switched depending on whether paper needs to be moisturized or not in order to remove waving or curling of the paper subjected to fixing, and to provide an image forming apparatus having the paper moisturizing device. <P>SOLUTION: The paper moisturizing device moisturizes paper with a toner image thereon, ejected from the body of the image forming apparatus after a fixing process performed after the toner image formed by an image forming means is received. The paper moisturizing device includes a pair of porous rollers that absorb water, and a water supply container storing water to be supplied to the pair of porous rollers. The paper moisturizing device moisturizes the ejected paper with the toner image thereon in an nip area between the pair of porous rollers. The paper moisturizing device further includes a first paper conveyance path along which the ejected paper with the toner image thereon is guided to the nip area, and a second paper conveyance path, serving as a conveyance bypass, along which the ejected paper with the toner image thereon bypasses the nip area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
