<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is capable of performing quick image formation processing by shortening a wait time for switching from monochromatic print to color print. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a both-side print mechanism 40 which can retreat recording paper P which has passed a fixing part 30, to convey the recording paper P to image forming parts 20C, 20M, 20Y, and 20K again. When the image forming apparatus is switched to an image formation mode requiring a different fixing temperature of the fixing part 30, under control of a control part 60, the recording paper P is caused to pass the fixing part 30 without performing image formation processing by the image forming parts 20C, 20M, 20Y, and 20K and is conveyed to the both-side print mechanism 40, and the recording paper P retreated into the both-side print mechanism 40 is subjected to image formation processing at a prescribed timing by the image forming parts 20C, 20M, 20Y, and 20K. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
