SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display apparatus has an effective display region V formed by two-dimensionally arranging a plurality of sub pixels D each to be the minimum unit of display on a substrate 7a, a peripheral region Vs provided to the periphery of the effective display region V on the substrate 7a continuously to the effective display region V, an interlayer insulating film 22 provided to the substrate 7a over the effective display region V and the peripheral region Vs, and the irregular pattern provided to the surface of the insulating film 22 in the effective display region V and the peripheral region Vs. One sub pixel D has a region where the irregular pattern is provided and a region where the irregular pattern is not provided and irregular patterns including the irregular pattern identical with the irregular pattern provided in the region of the sub pixel D are continuously provided to the peripheral region Vs.
