PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system for a tunnel capable of improving visibility by improving a balance of luminance of a road surface. SOLUTION: A wall surface 21 in the tunnel 20 has a plurality of lighting fixtures 1 mutually arranged near the same side to a central position in the width direction of the tunnel 20 and respectively lighting the road surface 22. A coefficient of utilization to the road surface 22 is set higher than the side near to the lighting fixture 1 to the central position in the width direction of the tunnel 20 on the side separate from the lighting fixture 1 to the central position in the width direction of the tunnel 20. Since a difference in the luminance by a difference in an incident angle to the road surface 22 of the light directly reaching from the lighting fixture 1 can be offset on the side near to the lighting fixture 1 and the side separate from the lighting fixture 1, the visibility can be improved by improving the balance of the luminance of the road surface 22.
