PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injection foam molding method of a thermoplastic resin capable of obtaining a foamed injection-molded product having a desired foam size and density and good in surface state simply, safely and efficiently. SOLUTION: The injection foam molding method of the thermoplastic resin comprises a process (1) for injecting a foaming agent-containing thermoplastic resin in a mold cavity 10a from an injection device 30, a process (2) for immediately releasing the mold clamping force of a mold 10 to release the pressure of the foaming agent-containing thermoplastic resin in the mold cavity 10a after the foaming agent-containing thermoplastic resin is injected in the mold cavity 10a, a process (3) for holding a state that the pressure of the foaming agent-containing thermoplastic resin in the mold cavity 10a is released, for a predetermined time, a process (4) for magnifying the mold cavity 10a to foam the foaming agent-containing thermoplastic resin and a process (5) for cooling and holding the foaming agent-containing thermoplastic resin in a state that the mold cavity 10a is magnified.
