PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery condition detecting device capable of accurately determining battery condition even if the battery is deteriorated. SOLUTION: The battery condition detecting device for detecting condition of a battery mounted on an automobile is provided with a voltage sensor 23 for detecting output voltage of the battery 1 and a processing section 25 for determining whether a lower limit voltage value VL detected by the voltage sensor 23 immediately after starting discharge of the battery is the predetermined operable voltage value Vc or more in relation to an engine control ECU 8, and for determining whether condition of the battery 1 is normal or not on the basis of a result of said determination.
