PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safely operable apparatus for removing fat from a mixture and a mixed waste and recycling the same capable of preventing pollution and enhancing energy saving effect by reusing a solid component and oil mist generated upon treating a material to be treated. SOLUTION: The apparatus is constituted of a means 23 for subjecting a mixture and a mixed waste to a heat treatment with superheated steam using an externally heated rotary kiln 18 and separating the resulting solid component and oil mist, a means 27 for cooling the above oil mist to separate a water component and an oil component, a means 25 for recovering and reusing the solid component, a means for using the water component as a part of a water supply to a steam boiler 6, a means for using the heat generated by burning the oil component as a part of a heat source for heating a thermal decomposition furnace 22, a means for using the exhaust gas generated in the heating section of the thermal decomposition furnace 22 as a part of a heat source for heating a superheated steam generator 1, and a means for using the exhaust gas generated in the superheated steam generator 1 as a part of a heat source for heating the thermal decomposition furnace 22.
