<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small fuel cell suitable for a power source of portable electronic equipment, such as cellular phones or notebook personal computers. <P>SOLUTION: In a direct liquid type fuel cell A, a carbonaceous porous body 10 is used concurrently in a support and an anode wicking material, and current density is varied according to the water absorption of the carbon porous body defined by Formula (1): water absorption of the carbonaceous porous body = (volume of water absorbed in the carbon porous body)/(volume of voids of the carbonaceous porous body). The carbon porous body having electrical conductivity is shared as an electrode-current collector, a permeation medium of liquid fuel or gas, and a cell support; and since the current density is varied with the water absorption of the carbon porous body, discharge of carbon dioxide is facilitated, high voltage and high current density can be kept, and miniaturization and high output of the fuel cell system can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
