PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera with a live view display function capable of being compatible with an object with low luminance without degrading the quality of live view display. SOLUTION: The camera with the live view display function includes: a live view display CCD 51 including an imaging device for summating electric charges of a plurality of its pixels and capable of outputting the summated electric charges when the object has low luminance; and an image display liquid crystal monitor 26. Then image data output from the live view display CCD 51 are displayed on the liquid crystal monitor 26 in a prescribed display form. Further, the live view display CCD 51 places an upper limit for the number of summated pixels on itself in response to the display form of the liquid crystal monitor 26.
