PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce after locating a start at a reproduction point different for each image sound viewing apparatus of a connection opposite party through simple processing, when the connection opposite party is different, thus improving the operability. SOLUTION: An image sound recording and reproducing apparatus disclosed herein uses a communication means 52 to communicate with the external image sound viewing apparatus 36 in order to display image information subjected to image signal processing and sound information subjected to sound signal processing onto the external image sound viewing apparatus 36. A microcomputer 25 acquires individual identification information of the image sound viewing apparatus, stores a reproduction history of image information and sound information files by each individual identification information, when the image sound recording and reproducing apparatus uses the communication means 52 to connect again to the image sound viewing apparatus and a user views by using it, avoids selection of an improper file for the image sound viewing apparatus of the respective connection opposite parties on the basis of the preceding reproduction history different from each connection opposite party to particularize a file reproduced preceedingly, and locates the start of the file only with a reproduction instruction operation applied to the file reproduced preceedingly.
