PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake control device of an internal combustion engine capable of suppressing energy loss by the blowback of exhaust gases caused by the switching of the operational control of an intake control valve or the wasteful operation of the intake control valve. SOLUTION: This intake control device of the internal combustion engine comprises the intake control valve 14 installed in an intake path 10 on the upstream side more than the intake valve 12 of the internal combustion engine 1. The device can switch between a control pattern PTN1 for opening the intake control valve 14 while the intake valve 12 is opened and closing the intake control valve 14 after the intake valve 12 is closed and a control pattern PTN2 for opening the intake control valve 14 before the intake valve 12 is opened and closing the intake control valve 14 while the intake valve 12 is opened. In the process of switching from the control pattern PTN2 to the control pattern PTN1, the intake control valve 14 is controllably opened and closed at least one time from a time when the intake control valve 14 is closed in the control pattern PTN2 performed last before the switching to a time when the intake control valve 14 is opened in the control pattern PTN1 performed first after the switching.
