PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus capable of automatically adjusting an RFID tag communication starting position becoming a communication starting timing with an RFID tag-built-in recording medium. SOLUTION: A present recording apparatus provides the printing apparatus capable of automatically adjusting the RFID tag communication starting position becoming the communication starting timing with the RFID tag-built-in recording medium. In addition, the present recording apparatus can be applied to a printing apparatus capable of easily adjusting a stopping position when a communication with an RFID tag of an printing apparatus with an RFID tag recording function which communicates with the RFID tag after conveying is stopped, is performed. It is thereby possible to solve the problem that for conventionally setting this communication starting timing, it is necessary to search a communication starting timing capable of normally recording by actually recording while a user adjusts the communication starting timing to the RFID tag-built-in recording medium to be used, and it results therefore in complicating the operation.
