A method for providing the broadcast/multicast service to a user includes sending a request from the user to the first home broadcast/multicast service center for the broadcast/multicast service; redirecting the request for the broadcast/multicast service of the user to the second broadcast/multicast service center by said first broadcast/multicast service center; after receiving the request for providing the broadcast/multicast service of the user by said second broadcast/multicast service center, providing the broadcast/multicast to the user. The invention removes the limitation of providing the broadcast/multicast service only by the home BM-SC of the user home network, and meet the need of actual broadcast/multicast of the user.
