A head rest support arm (24) is configured to vertically extend from the back rest (12) . It has a vertical extension area parallel to seat rest plane, at least one horizontal adjusting arm vertical to plane (14) of back rest and a horizontal base. A head support inner structure grips a horizontal adjusting arm which is linearly movable to multiple positions along said arm. An active head support element is mounted on the inner structure and the horizontal base arm and can be moved between stowed away and pulled out positions. The active head support element moves the inner structure into a forward head support position when responding to moving into a pulled out position. A release element retains the active head support element in the stowed away position and releases it if the car crashes.
