摘要 <p>The surface to be examined is heated by a laser to cause gas emission. The ratio of typical photo-fragmenting substances from the group N, H, O, C and molecules formed therefrom are detected spectroscopically by differential absorption using a laser. Explosive-typical ratios are detected by a computer and the presence of traces of explosives is reported and/or recorded. An independent claim is included for an apparatus for detecting explosive contamination.</p>
