<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical conductive film having high photoelectric conversion ratio and high S/N ratio, a photoelectric conversion element and an image pickup element (preferably, color image sensor). <P>SOLUTION: The photoelectric conversion film contains at least one compound expressed by a general formula (1). The photoelectric conversion element, the image pickup element, the method of applying an electric field to them and the element applied with the electric field are provided. In the formula (1), L denotes a bivalent or higher coupling group, n denotes an integer two or more, and A is a chemical structure expressed by a general formula (2).
