PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movement discrimination apparatus for discriminating movements of a user highly precisely.

SOLUTION: The movement discrimination apparatus includes: a movement detection part for detecting a shape of a trajectory drawn by being moved by the user three-dimensionally to output detection data showing the detection result; a detection data extraction part 32 for extracting a part of the detection data; a figure formation part 33 for forming a two-dimensional trajectory by projecting the three-dimensional trajectory formed on the basis of the detection data extracted by the detection data extraction part 32 onto a reference plane on the basis of a tilt against a vertical direction of the movement detection part and forming a figure drawn by the user by combining the three-dimensional trajectory with the two-dimensional trajectory; and a retrieval part for retrieving the figure drawn by the user by comparing the formed figure with a pre-registered figure. The detection data extraction part 32 stops extracting the detection data when the movement detection part 2 is moved for a specified distance or more in an almost vertical direction against the plane on which the figure is drawn.
