<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation device capable of disabling operation based on a tilt of the device without requiring a physical switch to prevent selection of an unintended instruction key when placing the device on a table or the like or when vertically putting the device into a pocket or a bag. <P>SOLUTION: An operation detection part 9 detects predetermined prescribed operation performed to this operation device 1, e.g. 'hit' operation or 'shaking operation' on the basis of an attitude signal. When the prescribed operation is detected by the operation detection part 9, a cursor control part 15 disables the operation based on the attitude signal.
