PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible substrate whose process control can be simplified. SOLUTION: This flexible substrate 5 comprises a flexible member 50; and a group of leads 51 formed on the surface on the side contiguous to the LCD panel 1 of the flexible member 50, and having a recess 52 in the location adjacent to the end of a glass substrate 10 of an LCD panel 1. Though the parts of the flexible member 50 and the leads 51 on the right side of the location thereof in contact with a crimping tool 4 are bent downward, because the recess 52 of the leads 51 is located above the right end of the glass substrate 10 of the LCD panel 1, the corner of the glass substrate 10 will not be in contact with the group of leads 51.
