PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head band for a helmet efficiently absorbing sweat emitted in the head during wearing, eliminating an unpleasant feeling of skin touch with the sweat, simply wearing and removing a member having sweat-absorbing functions, washing or exchanging the member with a new article and having a slight pressing feeling by tightening the head and to provide the helmet using the head band. SOLUTION: The head band for the helmet is obtained by mounting hammocks 3 in brackets 2 provided in the lower edge part of the inner surface of a hat body 1 and detachably mounting the head band 4. A size regulating mechanical part 6 is detachably connected to both ends of a sweat-absorbing band 5 having sweat-absorbing properties and elasticity in the material itself. The sweat-absorbing band 5 is manufactured from a sweat-absorbing sheet obtained by laminating and integrating liners having water permeability and quick-drying properties with both the face and the back sides of an open-cell synthetic resin or a water-absorbing substrate prepared by carrying out compression forming processing of the open-cell synthetic resin.
