The overlay has covers with upper and lower cover parts (3, 4), where the upper part is utilized as a seat or couch surface and the lower cover is utilized as a slip locked lower side. A covered soft filling (6) is provided between the upper and lower cover parts. The upper and lower cover parts are made of synthetic material, are porous and are in the form of lattice. The cover parts have a carrier interlaced yarns made of foamed synthetic material e.g. polyster thread and soft-polyvinyl chloride. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a overlay.
