A data reproducing apparatus with an automatic review function and a data reproducing method thereof are provided to record review wish parts while reproducing an audio or video file by a review wish key and to enable a user to study the recorded wish parts after finishing reproducing a predetermined section of the file. A data reproducing apparatus with an automatic review function is composed of a data storage unit(303) including a study data file(311) storing study data in a digital file form, a study section reference table(312) storing position information about the study section of the study data, and a review wish part table(313) storing the address of the correspondent study data as a review wish part in response to the designation of review wish parts; a reproducing unit decompressing the compressed study data by decoding the study data and then converting the data into analog data and outputting the analog data; a user interface transferring the user's intension; and a control unit(100) recording the address of the correspondent study data in the review wish part table as the review wish part if the review wish part is designated through the user interface while reproducing the study data, searching the study section including the address of the review wish part from the study section position information of the study section reference table if review conditions are satisfied, and then enabling a user to review the review wish part. |
