A device for controlling power of a monitor is provided to prevent troublesomeness for replacing the monitor by enabling the monitor to directly manage a rated voltage changed according to change of a VESA(Video Electronics Standard Association) standard and extend a use range by supporting both of 5 and 3.3 volts. A PC(100) is mounted with a video card for supplying a video signal. The monitor(200) transforms the video signal output from the video card into a corresponding setting level according whether a voltage level of the video signal output from the video card is the preset setting level, and recognizes the video signal by transforming the video signal into the recognizable voltage level. The monitor includes a level transformer(201) transforming a power level if the power level supplied from the PC is lower than a reference level, a memory(202) operated by receiving the signal of the power level transformed in the level transformer or supplied from the PC, and a bias circuit(203) selectively supplying the signal to the level transformer according to the power level supplied from the PC.
