<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase density by detecting a light quantity itself as well as a spot intensity distribution based on a difference signal between light receiving areas facing each other in forming a bit and reading the disk of an optical pickup device to greatly increase the number of marks or mark patterns in a disk surface spot. <P>SOLUTION: The optical pickup device for reading the pattern of a recording mark recorded in an optical disk by irradiating the track of the optical disk with a very small spot is constituted in such a manner that the recording marks have a plurality of light-spot recording marks different in amplitude and phase and capable of reflecting reflected light from one irradiated mark, and reflected light beams from respective areas of the marks are combined to be output. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
