PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find sound velocity and acoustic impedance in an object under inspection and to more accurately grasp the physical characteristics of the object under inspection by using them. SOLUTION: A transducer 14 applies an ultrasonic wave to biological tissue 21 by being pulse-excited while receiving a reflected wave from the biological tissue 21. A CPU 31 corrects the reflected wave from the biological tissue 21 by performing deconvolution processing by using a reflected wave from a glass substrate 20. The CPU 31 separates, in a time domain, a reflected wave by the front surface of the biological tissue 21 and a reflected wave by the rear surface thereof from the reflected wave which has been corrected. The CPU 31 analyzes, in respective frequency domains, the respective reflected waves which have been separated, thereby finding sound velocities and acoustic impedance on a plurality of frequencies.
