<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a grid polarization film, which is excellent in polarization-separating performance, with an efficient, inexpensive and simple process. <P>SOLUTION: According to the manufacturing method comprising a step of stretching a stacked body composed of an A layer made of resin and the B layer which is formed on at least one side surface of the A layer and comprises a material X having an absolute value of difference between a real number part n and an imaginary number part κ of a complex refractive index (N=n-iκ) of 1.0 or more such that the stretching magnification in a first stretching direction is 1.25 to 10 times, the stretching magnification in a second stretching direction orthogonal to the first stretching direction is 0.85 to 2 times and the stretching magnification R1 becomes larger than the stretching magnification R2, the grid polarization film in which a plurality of slenderly and linearly extended b layers comprising a material X are arranged in parallel while being separated from each other can be obtained by producing cracks on the B layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
