PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure fitting between a bulb portion and a coupler, and a base, of an electrodeless discharge lamp for use of an extended period of the electrodeless discharge lamp, by preventing the occurrence of a problem of degradation in rigidity that is caused by degradation in resin materials. SOLUTION: A bulb 2 in which discharge gas is sealed up and a coupler part 4 that generates a high frequency electromagnetic field for exciting the bulb 2 are detachably fitted with each other through a base 3 that supports and fixes the bulb 2, with the bulb 2 and the base 3 constituting a lamp part. The base 3 consists of a base frame 32 formed from such materials as aluminum and a base cover 31 formed from synthetic resin or the like. The base frame 32 is, with a coupler fitting part 320 provided at the lower part fitted with the coupler part 4, provided upright from the coupler fitting part 320 and a bulb fixing post fixes a bulb outer tube 21. The materials of the fitting part between the lamp part and the base 3 of the coupler part 4 are not degraded in comparison with a conventional base formed from the resin materials.
