PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery case which can effectively prevent any peel-off due to temperature variations in a metal plate integrally fixed to a tubular wall of a synthetic-resin case body. SOLUTION: A metal plate 14 is made up in a method to integrally join many stiffening plates 30 located adjacent to each other at a given distance in a direction perpendicular to a height direction of a case body 12 with clips 32 positioned between neighboring stiffening plates 30. An expansion and contraction means 44 is provided on the clip 32 which makes the clip 32 expandable in a direction perpendicular to the height direction of the case body 12.
