PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data-rewritable optical disk recording medium with reduced formatting time required when the disk is ejected. SOLUTION: Dummy data for background formatting is recorded in an order reverse to that in which user data is recorded. Thereby, it is possible to effectively avoid a background formatted portion from being overwritten with user data as in the conventional art. Therefore, the background formatted portion is effectively utilized, thereby making it possible to effectively reduce the formatting time required during ejection. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
