PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a grid polarizing film, which is superior in polarization-separating performance and has a high light transmittance, by using efficient, inexpensive and simple processes. SOLUTION: According to the manufacturing method comprising a process of producing cracks on a B layer by stretching a stacked body that has an A layer made of resin, the B layer comprising a material Z having the absolute value of the difference between the real number part (n) and the imaginary number part (κ) of a complex refractive index (N=n-iκ) of 1.0 or larger and a D layer, which is disposed between the A layer and the B layer and has a micro domain structure comprising two kinds of X phase and Y phase, having different adhesiveness for the material Z, the grid polarization film in which a plurality of (b) layers extended slenderly and linearly comprising a material Z are arranged in parallel, while being separated from each other, can be obtained.
