PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely suppress the degrading of the strength in a key part even when a fixing roller is made thin in thickness. SOLUTION: In the fixing apparatus 20, a paper P is supplied to the circumferential surface of the thin cylindrical axially rotatable fixing roller 30 wherein a heat generating body 24 is incorporated, then, a toner image on the paper P is thermally fixed. The fixing roller 30 includes the key part 33 formed at the end part, where the circumferential part is partly formed nearly flat inward in the radial direction.
