<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and inexpensively achieve a high-speed display in a large screen with high resolution requiring a great amount of image data without changing substantial operational speeds of line drivers, clock frequencies or the like. <P>SOLUTION: An active matrix display apparatus is provided which has a plurality of pixels, a first source line driver 410, a second source line driver 411, and a signal process circuit having a first line memory 402 and a second line memory 403, on a substrate having an insulating surface. Each of the first line memory and the second line memory has first to 2m-th memories storing 2m of image signals, and carries out a first operation of sequentially storing image signals in the first to 2m-th memories and a second operation of outputting the image signals stored in the first to m-th memories to the first source line driver and simultaneously outputting the image signals stored in the (m+1)-th to 2m-th memories to the second source line driver.
