PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a USB switch that can switch the electrical connection of a computer to any of a plurality of USB devices without hanging up the computer, and a KVM switch that incorporates such switches. SOLUTION: The USB switch 1 comprises a computer USB interface 11, device USB interfaces 12 provided for USB devices, a switch part 13 for switching the electrical connection of the computer USB interface 11 to any one of the plurality of device USB interfaces 12 and establishing the electrical connection, and a monitoring part 14 for monitoring communication states at the device USB interfaces 12. The switch part 13 can switch the electrical connection while the monitoring part 14 detects that any of the device USB interfaces 12 is in a predetermined communication state.
