PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce temperature unevenness generated in the width direction perpendicular to the traveling direction during a heating process of a belt recording member, while preventing damage of the belt caused by performing belt shift control, in an image heating device for heating an image on the recording member by the endless belt generating heat by a magnetic flux from a magnetic flux generating means. SOLUTION: A control means performs shift control of the belt by being wound around the belt to incline the roller shaft stretching the belt, and does not perform shift control of the belt, during heating process of the recording member and performs the shift control of the belt, only during the non-heating process of the recording member.
